Welcome to CP Playtime, a subscription free resource dedicated to helping parents and caregivers of children with cerebral palsy find inspiration for toys to help achieve their rehabilitation goals through play and fun.
CP Playtime is built upon a foundation of personal experience of having a young daughter with GMFCS 2 Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy, who is most affected in the function of one of her upper limb/hand.
Through lots of trial and error we’ve built an effective collection of cerebral palsy toys that have helped in our daughters rehabilitation journey so far, and wanted to share some of that information with others who may find it useful or at least save them some time.
This site will be focused around toys that target upper limb and hand involvement and function initially, but we hope to expand this over time so check back in!
Any links to buy products are affiliate links, and we appreciate your support by using them!
Alot of toys will have the option of either single hand or bi-manual play, but here you’ll find a selection of toys that can be used atleast to some extent (such as a parent holding one part while child grabs another), with a single hand.
Bi-manual toys generally require the use of two hands, either to hold an item while doing something else, or pulling/pushing apart for example.
The best thing about this page is it is built off our own experiences with toys we’ve actually used in the CP rehabilitation process of our daughter, so you get real world reviews of cerebral palsy toys. Below is a photo from one of our toy storage cupboards – you’ll notice most of these toys on the site!
