Cerebral Palsy Toys

Below you’ll find a range of toys that we have either purchased (ALOT!), or have looked at as part of finding special needs toys for cerebral palsy rehab for our daughter as play is such an important part of rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy, especially when they’re young.

For us, the toys below would generally only come out for dedicated OT sessions at home, as we found they were best used in a structured environment to ensure success, at least initially.

The best thing is that these toys aren’t generally specific special need toys for cerebral palsy – they’re just regular toys that we’ve adapted to our goals at certain points in time.

We’ve included a wide range of toys that are suitable for various stages of cerebral palsy therapy including single hand and bi-manual (both) hand use toys, as well as some items that we found were beneficial for weight bearing activities.

Alot of toys will be shown in both single and bi-manual categories as most can be used atleast to some extent (such as a parent holding one part while child grabs another), with a single hand.

** Every child’s needs are unique, and the use of these toys should be done in consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.
