Fat Brain Squigz Starter Set

Fat Brain’s Squigz Starter is an fun suction toy that will have your little one building and creating for hours. With suction-cup connectors that stick to any smooth surface, kids can make all sorts of wacky shapes and structures.

How WE used it/What we liked

We enjoyed Squigz, initially as a physio type exercise with standing against a window and pulling them off with her non affected hand, which then moved to a bi-manual activity of trying to pull them apart as her grip strength increased, or placing them lightly on a window and getting her to knock them off with her hand/arm as a reaching exercise. We’d also place a couple on her high chair tray (smooth plastic surface) to play with during meal times and encourage movement of the arm/hand to them to make them go “boing” etc.

Look out for

When they say they suck, they really do suck. If you stick two together you need decent grip strength to pull them apart. Even sticking them solo on a window for example requires a bit of force to pull them off, so your child will need some grip strength. We would often stick them gently to enable success, but that was a bit hit and miss. There are some smaller ones that take less effort to pull off, but they are smaller so require additional fine motor skills.
